Photon Wound Therapy (WPT)
What is Photon Wound Therapy?
Photon wound therapy technology, which was originally developed by NASA, is also called NASA LED wound therapy. Photon wound therapy is a safe, natural, and noninvasive way to promote wound healing and reduce pain that has been used in human patients for years. This amazing technology is now being introduced to veterinary professionals as therapy for a variety of wounds and lesions, including surgical wounds, bite wounds, injuries, and burns.
The treatment probe uses a single high-power three watt LED, making it as powerful as many large laser-based machines.
High power means that less treatment time is required to ensure the same efficacy. Generally, a postoperative wound treatment only takes three to five minutes. It is noninvasive, painless, and has no known side effects.
It is an effective therapy for both dogs and cats.
